Walks Noticing

In the city

sometimes it’s hard

to be alone,

really alone

without anyone to talk to

not even radio personalities.

It’s hard to remember

you need to let your solo diva

run free rambunctious

when food stamps aren’t getting renewed

and the sheets need washing

in the spooked basement.

That’s when you order up

a nice noticing walk for one.

No it’s not free

but it comes as investment in

replenishing your personal aquifer

until another dry season hits.

At night the trees

are hands of some old man reaching

into the sky.

Rabbits running through

lit parking lots seeking their next

dark hiding hold.
