Journal as Art//Art as Journal

I recently took a class at Articulture, the local art studio, which has kindled a new obsession–filling up this little moleskine with color and texture! Thank goodness I’ve found an art which is fueled by my pack rat paper collecting habits. You can see the trends toward warm pinks and reds now that we’ve lost that color from the trees. I like this format because I can be as messy as I want, keep my room carpeted with scraps of magazine and newspapers, and then take the project with me in my backpack!

Check out the work by my teacher, Kim Gillespie, and my classmate, Chris! They are both wonderful artists who have taught me a lot in the past five weeks.

  1. Aw, thanks for the kind mention! 🙂 I’m glad you were able to join the class. And that you’re continuing with your journal – love the pages you’ve posted here.
